Allowance appliesView-Only Seats are free and unlimited on paid portals
  • StructuralStarter to Professional cliff

The single largest jump in the directory, $20 to $100 per seat. Starter exists to get data in; automation, sequences and custom reporting live above the step, and by then the CRM data and team habits are already inside HubSpot.

  • FeeMandatory onboarding fees

Professional carries a required one-time onboarding fee of $1,500 and Enterprise $3,500, stated on the pricing page and charged separately from subscription. A five-seat Professional team pays $6,000 in licences plus $1,500 in year one.

  • MeteredHubSpot Credits

AI agents run on credits at $9.00 per 1,000 when billed annually. Each tier includes an allowance (500 Starter, 3,000 Professional, 5,000 Enterprise) and consumption varies by agent, 50 credits per conversation resolved, 100 per prospecting outreach.

  • MeteredMarketing contacts

Marketing Hub bills by marketing contacts above the included allowance, sold in blocks. Non-marketing contacts are stored free.

  • LicenceSeat-type mismatch

Paying for Sales Seats where a Core Seat or a free View-Only Seat would do is the most common overspend. Map each person's actual workflow to a seat type.

  • StructuralHub-by-hub pricing

Marketing, Content and Data hubs use a flat platform fee with seats included; Sales and Service stay per-seat all the way up. The Customer Platform bundle prices differently again.

  • 2024-03
    Move to seat-based pricing

HubSpot replaced the previous model with Core / Sales / Service / View-Only seat types and removed seat minimums on Sales and Service Hub. Applies to accounts created after 5 March 2024; older portals migrate at renewal.

HubSpot pricing FAQ

How much does HubSpot Sales Hub cost?

Free for up to 2 users. Starter is $20 per seat per month, Professional $100 and Enterprise $150, billed annually. Promotional rates of $7 and $90 are currently shown on Starter and Professional. Professional and Enterprise also carry required one-time onboarding fees of $1,500 and $3,500.

How does HubSpot charge?

By seat, but the seat has a type. Core Seats give edit access across every hub owned and are priced at the level of your highest-tier subscription. Sales and Service Seats unlock the deeper role-specific features. View-Only Seats are free and unlimited. Marketing Hub adds a second axis: marketing contacts.

Does HubSpot have a free plan?

Yes, and it is genuinely usable, the Smart CRM is free with up to 5 Core Seats and unlimited View-Only Seats. The costs begin when you need automation, branding removal, or capacity above the included contact allowance.

Why is my HubSpot bill higher than the seat price?

Three usual causes: a mandatory one-time onboarding fee on Professional and Enterprise, marketing-contact blocks above the included allowance, and seats assigned a more expensive type than the person's role requires.
