Guests & externals

Allowance appliesGuest seats are counted differently from member seats
  • StructuralSeat buckets

This is the defining mechanic. Seats are sold in blocks, minimum 3, then multiples of 5, so a six-person team pays for ten. Your effective per-person cost is the bucket total divided by actual headcount, never the advertised seat price.

  • StructuralHeadline rates are promotional

Standard and Pro are shown discounted against a struck-through list price, $12 against $14 and $19 against $22 per seat at 10 seats. Budget the list rate, because the offer is what expires, not the price.

  • StructuralFour separate products

Work platform, CRM, dev and service are individually priced. Bundling is allowed and each product can sit on a different plan and seat count, but all must share one billing cycle, and on Enterprise, all must be Enterprise.

  • MeteredAI credits

AI work is billed in credits reflecting task complexity rather than a flat fee, purchased in blocks and tracked in real time.

  • LicenceGuest counting

Guests are counted differently from members, which can either save money or surprise you depending on how external collaborators are set up.

  • StructuralQuote above 40 users

Self-serve pricing covers teams up to 40. Beyond that monday.com directs you to request a quote, so the published rate stops applying exactly where the spend gets material.

monday.com pricing FAQ

How does monday.com charge?

Per seat, but sold in buckets, a minimum of 3 seats, then in multiples of 5. Yearly billing carries an 18% discount over monthly. Above 40 users the published rates stop and you request a quote.

Does monday.com have a free plan?

Yes, capped at 2 seats and only on the AI work platform. Signing up starts a 14-day Pro trial of whichever product you chose, which cannot be extended.

Why do I pay for seats nobody uses?

Because of bucket pricing. Seats ascend in multiples of 5 above the 3-seat minimum, so any headcount that is not exactly on a bucket boundary rounds up by design.

Is monday.com's advertised price the real price?

Not quite. Standard and Pro are displayed at a discount against a struck-through list rate, $12 against $14 and $19 against $22 per seat. Basic shows no discount. Treat the list figure as the durable number when you model renewal.
